Ela Banerjee

Ela is a filmmaker and writer living in Berkeley, CA. She is the proud daughter of Bengali immigrants and a graduate of UC Berkeley. When she’s not making creative stuff with her friends and rewatching 2005’s Pride & Prejudice, she works at the oral history nonprofit, Voice of Witness. Ela is the Sad SAC to her big sister, Deya, who is as successful as she is supportive, loving, and knowledgeable about the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Nicole Won

Creator / Writer / Director / Producer / Editor / Colorist

Unsurprisingly, Nicole is a Second Asian Child. Though she always had a passion for television and films, Nicole followed her older sister's path of studying business at UC Berkeley and pursuing a corporate career. However, she quietly explored her curiosity for filmmaking by editing fan videos of shows she is too embarrassed to share for public knowledge. Now, her pursuit of film making is not so quiet. As a founder member of Odd Folk Films and creator of Sad SAC, she loves this world of working with fellow creatives and true friends.

Anna Sun

Anna grew up performing in various children’s plays and musical recitals, but the main show was at home lip syncing to her favorite Kpop songs. Anna is now a full-time actor training at Beverly Hills Playhouse San Francisco. Some of her more recent work includes a lead role in a feature film (“Kikan”) as well a local web series (“Curves for Women, Angles for Men”). She is the Happy SAC (second Asian child) aka the baby of the family who grew up catching all the breaks and learning what NOT to do. IG: @acharms8

Sonia Sawyer

Sonia Sawyer is a full time actor working in the Bay Area.  Since starting her journey in the entertainment industry she has performed in theater and starred in multiple short films.  Her passion is comedy and she hopes to one day star in a major network sitcom. Lauren Schwartzman

Director of Photography / Producer

Lauren is a filmmaker living in Oakland, CA. Her documentary short Dust Rising won a Student Academy Award in 2018. She has a Master of Journalism from UC Berkeley. She loves snuggling dogs, speaking in a bad British accent, and getting creative with her friends. She’s a proud overbearing older sibling to her sister, Rachel.

Kevin Hotalen

Sound Recordist / Sound Mixer / Producer

Kevin is a Bay Area filmmaker and a founding member of Odd Folk Films. When he's not making movies with his bestest friends, he's working in IT and/or attempting to play guitar. After nearly a year and a half of working on Sad SAC, he's excited to share it with everyone and show off the talents of the amazing team. Sooin Yoon

Sooin is excited to be working on her first series production with this wonderful group of folks. She enjoys cool ocean breezes and has a habit of starting random side hobbies based off of DIY videos that show up on her feed. She is the only child of loving, adventurous, and supportive parents.

Cliff is a recovering (but failing at it) lawyer, trying his hand at actual art and creativity with this project instead of labeling it "intellectual property" and being detached about it. Downtime means reading long-form journalism with a steaming cup of French press or moka pot coffee. Vacation means seeking out tasty eats off the beaten path in places far, far away. He has 3 older half sisters in another continent who he keep varying levels of contact with and 1 younger sister who he's glad has joined him in the Bay almost a decade ago. Josh Shpak, the 1st of his name and the 1st born to his parents Michael and Jamie. Josh is a professional musician of many types - a composer, performer, producer and educator based out of Boston, MA. He plays in the incredible funk band Ripe (IG: @ripelove). However, more importantly, he is the luckiest big brother in the world to his beloved sibling Noah.
